RaggdollofTwilight
Reality is scarier than fiction

Gather 'round the campfire and allow Ragg spin you a tale of mystery, suspense, and horror.
And the best part about it is... it's true.
Have you ever felt like you were being watched, as if some unseen being was standing right next to you, breathing down your neck? And every hair on your body comes to attention as chills roll down your spine?
Do you sometimes find yourself stepping faster through the darkness to your bed when you turn the lights out at night? You feel that someone, or something, is going to pull together in the shadows and grab you because your stomach turns and your nerves reach their bitter end.
Have you ever woken up in the early hours of the morning, turned on your light, and glanced around your room because you were touched by a cool hand, or someone whispered your name in your ear, only to find that you were completely alone? The only thing that remains is that feeling in your gut that tells you don't close your eyes, or don't, under any circumstance, surrender yourself to the darkness once more.
Something lies in wait for you there; waiting to place it's bony fingers on your warm skin.
And for a brief moment, you lose yourself. Maybe not all, but a vital piece of sanity that allows you to walk through your darkened house alone without a second thought. You can't do this now.
In that moment, you forget what your mother told you when you were younger about things that go bump in the night. You forget the most important words you've ever learned -- monsters don't exist.
You tend to forget about your own rationalizations telling you that there is a perfectly good explanation for everything that you've seen or heard; the creak down the hall, the footsteps on the stairs, the knock above your bed, the creeping silhouette on the wall. You forget because you know, in some deep fathom in your mind, where you tend not to venture... you know what is making those noises.
You know that there are things in this world that can't be explained.
In that moment, you believe in ghosts, monsters, and all that's in between.

I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR RUN-IN(S) WITH THE PARANORMAL.
TELL YOUR TRUE STORY OF A MONSTROUS BEAST, GHOUL, GOBLIN, OR GHOST THAT YOU'VE ENCOUNTERED.
MINE WILL BE IN THE CAMPFIRE. (I NEED TO GET MY KIDS IN BED FIRST.)
PS - Don't forget your flashlight.

Come in here and share your favorites. Any recommendations? What wine is good with what? What type of wine do you prefer? What's your comfort wine? What wine have you tried that you don't have a taste for? Any "insider" wine tips for newbies?

Please teach me about wine!

Ode to my Misspent Youth
So, DH's daughter turned 12 this week and he, his ex wife and I spent the day talking about how we were at that age.
DH had already been getting high for 3 years by the time he was 12
DH's ex wife had been smoking cigs for 2 years by the time she was 12
I was DRUNK on my 12th bday-
We are VERY lucky that Bella (yes DH's daughter is an Annabella) is so not like any of us....
So- I take a drink of water and toast to the fact that the poor girl won't be getting away with ANYTHING...
What about you-anything you'd like to confess??

The Curious Village
Okay. So last year this game owned me:

I may or may not have spent 13 hours solid playing it. I also may or may not have cheated and used walkthroughs. But I completed it (who knew they were all robots right?) and carried on with my life pre-Professor Layton (which included playing Imagine Schoolteacher and Imagine Babies. Haha).
So I got bought the new Professor Layton game: Pandora's box. I got all giddy with excitement and settled down for a hardcore gaming session (cause y'know - there's nothing more wild than solving puzzles) only to find that they've recycled the puzzles. I cried. No I didn't. But I wanted to. I was super disappointed.
The last time I remember being this disappointed about a game was when Crash: Mind over Mutant came out.

OKAY. So to make this rant of mine interactive. When was the last time you were really disappointed? It doesn't have to be a video game. But say - a sequel to a film came out and completely ruined a whole franchise for you? Or you bought a book thinking it was going to be amazeballs just to get home and struggle to get past the first chapter? Or you expected something from someone who let you down?

And I'm once again in the baking mood so I figured we could share cake recipes...specifically cupcakes.
Today I made 'Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes'

Of course mine looked nothing like this, but the recipe will be in the comments.
So come share your FAVOURITE cupcake recipes with the forest :D

We haven't had a tattoo campfire in a while & I figured I'd start one up. Pics will be in the comments so I don't clutter up the home page.
I know I don't have to make this Twilight-related since it's FFAF, but I will anyway: do you know anyone with Twilight-themed tatts? Would you ever get one? I Googled "Twilight tattoos" & got some interesting results (most interesting will be in the comments with my personal pics).

Denver Meet-Up
Hello!
We're planning a Denver Twific meet-up for Saturday, October 16th. If you live in Colorado and are interested in coming, please feel free to post a note here or send me a DM with your email address so I can add you to our email list. So far, we have about 8 people and I'd love to meet everyone else that lives in this area. We don't really know what we're doing yet (Chilis? Dave & Buster's? Picnic? Thoughts?) but it should be a lot of fun!
Thank you!

rec me something HP?
So, I've recently (like, somewhere in the past year) read the Harry Potter books FOR THE FIRST TIME (yes, I was one of those people who refused to read them) (I changed my mind, obviously). And when I'd finished DH there was this big, gaping hole in my chest... etc etc.
Anyway. It's friday night, and I'm bored. Rec me some good HP fic? It doesn't have to be romantic, but if it is - Draco/Hermione, Lily/Snape or someone cocky/someone shy or inexperienced, no teacher/pupil. Slash is fine. I've read Finding Himself and its sequel by minisinoo, Tempora Abducto by Flaignhan and Claiming Hermione by ilke, and that's about it :) I've started some other fics today but they were really, REALLY bad. I have no idea where to start looking, honestly. Help?

Lets Feel Sorry for Ourselves, Shall We?
So, I'm sitting alone in my apartment, tweeting on twitter...and lets face it, their a little pathetic. I strive on venting. I think it's a very important means of life. So when your sitting around and feeling sad, I say it's good to share and get it out of your system.
So, I don't care if you think your problem is silly or random, I say share!
Mine will be in the comments.

VIP Cabins or "Caverns of Wonderrr"
In a far, distant corner of the forest shrouded in mists and surrounded by an anaconda infested moat that can only be safely crossed on a rickety old bridge guarded by a three-headed mime is a the fertile land of VIP cabins. Yes! You thought it a mere a legend, but in fact the stories are true; there are author forums in the forest.
And this is how you get there:
Click on the cleverly disguised “VIP Cabin” button:

Scroll down until you hit the beautiful, shiny houses hand carved and painted by the talented Jennyfly:

When you find an author’s cabin that you like and want to be able to stalk with ease, click on the cabin, and in the right hand corner of the forum hit “Add to Forum Alerts” so that you get emailed when a post is made:

So, tell us, strange and wonderful VIP authors, what goes down in your Caves of Debauchery? Sneak peeks? Teasers? Rants? Alex Pettyfer pic spams? Profound intellectual discussions on bacon?
Campers! Which cabins do you comment in? Which ones have you lurking outside in the bushes? Which ones do you feel are wrongfully neglected by their owners?

Scrambled Randomness
I haven't been traipsing through the forest as much lately, usually reading over campfires that others have long moved past. My school has started, my youngest broke his leg and is being quite the diva, my mom is having some crazy health issues that are freaking me out, I am trying to spiff up a chapter so my betas don't cringe when they re-read, trying to read One Day by David Nicholls (which halo rec'd and it is sooo good) and my Internet is usually out for some mysterious reason between the hours of 8am and 7pm. My brain feels like it is struggling to hold on to one thought for very long so, since its FFAF, I might as well get it all out.
1. Anyone watching The Big C on Showtime. I heard it was directed by Bill Condon and checked it out. I am loving it and it is making me hopeful for some quality in BD.
2. Anyone used to watch Once and Again on ABC in the early 2000s? I did and just rewatched my season one dvds. I loved that show! Unfortunately, I just found out that the final season has not been released and was wondering if anyone knows were I could watch it online.
3. Anyone use Wen hair care stuff? I received an email to try it out "at a great low introductory price" and was wondering if it was any good.
4. Anyone else have a problem with random ideas for OTHER fics popping into your head while you are working on another you've barely started?
5. Anyone else have days (or days upon days) that your brain can't seem to hold on to anything? (and then everyone else wants to point out all the things you're let slip through the cracks but god forbid they help out....)
6. Rob still hot?
